Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate, interchangeably known as Sodium Laureth Sulfate, or SLES for short, has been a dominant surfactant used in daily household detergents, personal care products, and cosmetics. It’s a mild coconut-derived anionic surfactant with a great balance of cost and performance, dominantly used as an emulsifier, cleanser, and foaming agent in mild skin-touch products.

Thanks to its great cleaning power, mildness, and excellent compatibility with other surfactants, it can be found almost in all cleaning rinse-off products. Compared to the other rivaling primary surfactant, Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonic Acid (LABSA), SLES is much milder, more natural, and more hard water-resistant.

Yeser Chemicals has been partnering with leading SLES producers, with one being our next-door neighbor, through Third-party Toll-manufacturing Agreements. We can supply top-quality SLES 70% at a competitive price, with a 10,000 MT/month capacity.

Features & Benefits:

  • Excellent solubility and compatibility with other surfactants, resulting in great formulating flexibility.
  • Mild and low irritation makes it perfect for formulating all kinds of skin-touch products, to name a few, Shampoo, Body Lotion, Facial Cleanser, and Hand Soap Liquid.

  • With significant foaming, emulsifying, and cleansing ability, also with good hard water resistant property.

  • Made from natural coconut extract, with an excellent degradation rate of up to 92%.

Stability/Shelf life:

Stable. Combustible. Incompatible with potent oxidizing agents.

Store in a cool, dry, and dark place.

Under proper storage conditions, the shelf life of Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate is 24 months.

Recommended dosage:

The recommended dosage of Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate in detergents, personal care products, and cosmetics is 5.0%-18.0%

Frequently Asked Questions

We ourselves don’t produce SLES 70%, but we are not simply trading it either.

We have signed Third-party Toll-manufacturing Agreement with 2 leading SLES manufacturers(one of them is our next-door neighbor). Our partners contract manufacture SLES 70% for us, as per our demand and requirements.

Together with our contract manufacturers, Yeser Chemicals supplies top-quality SLES 70% at a competitive price, with a capacity of 10,000 MT/ Month.

No. They are two different chemicals.

SLES is short for Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate, with the chemical formula of CH3(CH2)11(OCH2CH2)NOSO3Na. The common trade name for SLES is Texapon.

Well, SLS stands for Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, also known as Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate. Its chemical formula is  CH3(CH2)11OSO3Na.

SLES is milder than SLS.

Typically, our Minimum Order Quantity(MOQ) for SLES 70% is one 20″FCL, i.e. 19,380KG.

However, we accept mixed loading with other non-hazardous products, such as CAPBCDEA, CMEA, CAO, AOS, Dimethicone, etc.

Our pricing for SLES changes frequently based on market conditions. However, SLES remains one of the most cost-effective surfactants available, along with LABSA, due to their widespread production and usage globally. SLES is also effective at low concentrations, making it an economical choice for use in a variety of applications.

SLES is available in two main grades, 70% and 28%. The 70% grade is the most commonly used globally due to its higher concentration and cost-effectiveness for transportation. The 28% grade is easier for production as it dissolves faster in water.

Some customers may differentiate SLES by detergent grade and cosmetic grade. The detergent grade is usually more impure, while the cosmetic grade has higher purity. Impurities may include unsulfated matter, iron ions, sodium chloride, and, most importantly, dioxane content. The common detergent grade may have dioxane content up to 30 ppm, while the cosmetic grade restricts its dioxane content below 10 ppm, or even lower.

We can provide customers with the specific grade of SLES that best meets their needs and preferences.

We provide technical data sheets, certificates of analysis (COAs), material safety data sheets (MSDS), and samples for our SLES. This ensures that our customers have access to all the information they need to make informed decisions about their purchases.

We have a large production capacity for SLES, which allows us to make shipments within 10 days of ordering. In urgent cases, we can make shipments as short as 5 days. We understand that timely delivery is essential for our customers, which is why we work hard to ensure that our production and shipping processes are as efficient as possible.

We offer three packaging options for SLES: 170 kg drum packing, 220 kg drum packing, and 1000KG IBC tank packing. The 170 kg drum packing is the most commonly used option favored by most customers, while the 220 kg drum packing is usually for cases where pallets are needed. The 1000KG IBC tank packing is for large-volume users who have the necessary facilities to unload and store SLES.

We are open to customizing the packaging for our customers when the order quantity is favorable. If customers only require custom labeling, there are no barriers or extra costs, and we are happy to accommodate these requests.

We offer technical support and guidance on formulating with SLES, thanks to our R&D strength, cutting-edge laboratories, and veteran chemist team.

Our R&D center has extensive expertise in SLES’s properties and formula development, which we are happy to share with our customers. This ensures that our customers have access to the technical knowledge and support they need to get the most out of our products.

We are able to provide consistent quality and supply of SLES. We are ISO 9001:2005 certified and a firm executor of ISO standards in every segment of our operation. We understand that our customers rely on us to provide a consistent supply of high-quality SLES, so we take our commitment to quality and consistency seriously.

Our sound corporate governance and unswerving adherence to quality standards ensure that our customers receive a reliable and consistent product that meets their specific needs and requirements.
